How to use
PREPARATION OF SUBSTRATE
The substrate must be cured, sound, durable, clean, dry and free from dust, grease and any other substances that could compromise adhesion. The surface must be thoroughly primed with 1-2 coats of dark brown GUARDI primer dedicated specifically for the product. Before priming, fresh plaster should be allowed to cure for about 4 weeks in the case of cement or cement/ lime plasters and for about 2 weeks in the case of gypsum plaster. The surfaces of skim coats and dry lining must be dusted thoroughly and then primed with a suitable primer, such as Fixgrunt U. Make sure that all dust has been removed wiping the surface with the palm of your hand to check for the presence of any white residue. The existing, well-adhered emulsion paint coatings should be cleaned with sugar soap, rinsed with clean water and dried up. Surfaces affected by mould and mildew should be cleaned mechanically and treated with Biotox Total algae and fungus remover.
PREPARATION OF THE PRODUCT BEFORE USE
Add all the resin contained in the bowl under the lid to the bucket containing the golden mica flakes. Mix thoroughly using hand or power mixer to distribute the flakes uniformly throughout the volume. Do not use high-speed agitators.
USE INSTRUCTIONS
The product should be applied with a rounded steel trowel or a Venetian trowel, adjusting the coat thickness to the thickness of the mica flakes. Make sure the compound is spread evenly over the decorated surface and the substrate does not show through. Next thoroughly and carefully smoothen out the surface. Oversize particles can occur in the filler, resulting in appearance of scratches on the surface. To make good the surface remove the particle(s) and rework the scratched area. During application, both the substrate and ambient temperatures should be within the range of +10°C to +25°C. The product can be applied after the primer has been allowed to cure for at least two hours (at ca. 20°C temperature of ambient air and substrate and 55±5% relative humidity). Any places where substrate shows through can be made good by applying the product locally and reworking the surface using the previously applied technique. On completion immediately wash the tools with water.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
